Melisa

Director

Melisa is the founder and Director of The Tree. She grew up alongside a person with disability and has a lifetimes experience of seeing the social model of disability in action and working to address it.

Melisa believes passionately in the potential of the NDIS and is a strong voice for it to the best it can be. Though Melisa rarely works directly with clients, she ensures The Tree team have all they need to do their jobs well, assisting with research and systemic advocacy.

    Melisa believes passionately in the potential of the NDIS and is a strong voice for it to the best it can be. Though Melisa rarely works directly with clients, she ensures The Tree team have all they need to do their jobs well, assisting with research and systemic advocacy.

    Staying up to date on all the changes in the NDIS is a job in itself and Melisa is an NDIS nerd. With extensive understanding of the legislation underpinning the scheme and vast experience in many situations, Melisa is available for consultancy via Specialist Support Coordination funding in some limited circumstances.

    Melisa has many years experience in the disability sector, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Music) and a Master of Social Science (Human Services Management). Melisa began The IndividualiTree as a sole trader business when the NDIS rolled out in her area of NSW in 2016. The IndividualiTree is now a company, with many skilled and experienced staff, based right here in the Northern Tablelands of NSW. Run with a strong social justice framework, with a focus on human rights and sensible solutions, The IndividualiTree is a unique intermediary service provider registered for these supports throughout Australia.

    Cassie

    Finance Manager

    Cassie is the Plan Management Superstar behind The IndividualiTree. With an extensive background in financial and similar services, both in Australia and overseas - plus her lifetimes experience as a family member of a person with disability make her amazing at this role.

    Cassie is one of the most experienced Plan Managers around, starting work at The Tree in the very early days of NDIS rollout in this area. Cassie leads the Plan Management team with skill and an eye for detail.

    Through Cassie's leadership (and due to their own awesomeness) the Plan Management team deliver a professional, timely and informed Plan Management service to our clients. We meet, and often exceed, the expectations of the official NDIS Plan Management guide.

    Cassie is warm, generous and great at thinking outside the box. She is fearless in her ability to help people work through how they can spend their funding and has been genius at keeping on top of the constant changes within the NDIS. We are proud to say that the Plan Management Team at The Tree were already meeting the expectations of the NDIS Plan Management guide when it came out. In no small part due to Cassie's leadership.

    Michael

    Specialist Support Coordinator

    Michael is the newest member of the team at The IndividualiTree, but he brings with him a mountain of experience.Michael has worked extensively with people who are in contact with the child protection system, the justice system, who require housing assistance, people with mental health difficulties, working with people affected by domestic violence and assisting parents with the education system.

    Michael is a Masters qualified counsellor and leads the Support Coordination team.

    Specialist Support Coordinator

    Michael is the newest member of the team at The IndividualiTree, but he brings with him a mountain of experience.Michael has worked extensively with people who are in contact with the child protection system, the justice system, who require housing assistance, people with mental health difficulties, working with people affected by domestic violence and assisting parents with the education system.

    Michael is a Masters qualified counsellor and leads the Support Coordination team.


    He assists with more complex situations, including those that require a Specialist Support Coordinator. Through his work with the Brighter Futures program in a previous role, Michael has completed extensive training and has vast experience working with people dealing with a range difficult circumstances requiring the use of both mainstream and NDIS services.

    Michael may be newish to this role professionally, but he has also lived it since The Tree was established in 2016. Michael and Melisa are married and it has been impossible for him to avoid absorbing so much of the trials and successes that have been the NDIS to date. Michael has stepped into the role with professionalism and has some availability to work with new clients.

    Support Coordinator

    Jodie has been a Support Coordinator with The IndividualiTree for several years. A qualified primary school teacher, Jodie has lived experience as family member of a person with disability.

    Jodie has a strong sense of social justice, has extensive experience in supporting participants in a wide variety of situations, including with the Complex Pathway Team.Jodie currently has a full caseload and is not taking new clients.

    Jodie has been a Support Coordinator with The IndividualiTree for several years. A qualified primary school teacher, Jodie has lived experience as family member of a person with disability.

    Jodie has a strong sense of social justice, has extensive experience in supporting participants in a wide variety of situations, including with the Complex Pathway Team.Jodie currently has a full caseload and is not taking new clients.


    She has worked with people across all ages and has particular experience working with the education sector, assisting people who are involved in the Justice System, assisting people with housing and those dealing with child protection.

    Jill is an established Support Coordinator with The IndividualiTree, working with us now for several years. Jill is a qualified early childhood teacher with an extensive background in working with people with disability.

    Jill has experience in supporting participants with housing, working alongside the health and particular experience in working with the local CALD community. Jill currently has a full case load and is not taking new clients.

    Jill is an established Support Coordinator with The IndividualiTree, working with us now for several years. Jill is a qualified early childhood teacher with an extensive background in working with people with disability.

    Jill has experience in supporting participants with housing, working alongside the health and particular experience in working with the local CALD community. Jill currently has a full case load and is not taking new clients.


    Jill has fantastic local community connections and works tirelessly to ensure people get the supports they need. Jill also has loads of experiences assisting people with planning meetings and with reviews of their plan if necessary.

    Catherine

    Support Coordinator

    Catherine recently completed her Social Work qualification through UNE and is an Armidale local. She is passionate about supporting people living with disabilities, and has a special interest in supporting LGBTQIA+ people and teens/young adult PWD.

    Catherine has been with The Tree since the start of 2020, helping get us through the audit process. Catherine currently has capacity for new clients, including psychosocial recovery coaching.

    Catherine recently completed her Social Work qualification through UNE and is an Armidale local. She is passionate about supporting people living with disabilities, and has a special interest in supporting LGBTQIA+ people and teens/young adult PWD.

    Catherine has experience supporting participants dealing with the health system. Catherine also works with people remotely, and is appropriately qualified to work as a pyschosocial recovery coach. Catherine is available to take new clients.


    Catherine loves sewing, crafting, getting outside and drinking tea. She is also a big fan of cats!

    Nikki

    PM Admin/Local Provider Liaison

    Nikki's passion for helping others started after she left school. She became a teacher's aide working with students with disabilities for many years, which has now lead to The IndividualiTree.

    Growing up with a sibling and now a son with a disability has informed Nikki's work with The Tree. Nikki is a valued member of the PM admin team, manages our 'helping you find staff' service for clients and liaises with local providers.

    She is looking forward to broadening her experience with helping to make a difference in clients lives at The IndividualiTree.

    I have lived in Armidale my whole life. I love playing sport, definitely a fun, active hobby that I enjoy.
