Short Term Support Worker: Nursing/Medical – Armidale

A person with disability is looking for someone with experience as a nurse/dental nurse or with medical experience to support them with self care for a short time after recovering from surgery. This person already has support people who work with them, however more specific skills are needed for the recovery period. Students nearing the end of their degree are encouraged to apply.

Experience with people who have intellectual disability would be highly regarded. This role is only suited to female applicants, as per the persons choice. It would be great if you were the kind of person with great skills relating to people and are patient and respectful of the right of the person with disability to be in control. For the right person there may be ongoing shifts, with less of a medical focus. If you are interested in similar work there are other NDIS participants The IndividualiTree works with who may also be keen to talk with you.

The person uses the NDIS, meaning there are certain minimum requirements. You will need a first aid certificate (or relevant qualification), a police check or similar and ideally, insurance. In this instance it would be preferred if you had an ABN, however if this is not possible there may be alternatives. You will have access to support and advice if you need it.
